meet THE ILLESTRATOR.

Hi! My name is ILLPIXY (Carole for the real ones), and I am a Denver-born and based character artist and bgirl.* 

My work sits at the intersection of hip hop and character design, drawing from a specific foundation in wild-style graffiti, where arrows and visual rhythm guide the eye. I translate that same directional energy into the bodies of my figures using confident lines to create characters that feel both structured and fluid.

My characters often blur expected visual boundaries: male figures carry the curvature and proportions typically associated with femininity - cinched waists, elongated silhouettes - while maintaining a grounded sense of masculinity. This approach isn’t necessarily about redefining gender, but about showing how strength, presence, and beauty can be visualized within it.

The influence of my background in fashion informs the clarity and presentation of my compositions. Like a figure on a runway, my characters often stand alone, uninterrupted by complex environments. When color appears, it does so in bold, intentional patterns that support the figure rather than compete with it.

*I have many interests. I’ve been b-boying for over a decade (used to compete and everything) and currently partake more or less as a meditative practice. I also enjoy music (mostly alternative hip hop and electronic), alt fashion, doing my hair, cosplaying, rollerskating, watching movies, animation and comics.
